Maui Resort Rentals is pleased to support Maui Highs 29 student robotics team, Blue Thunder. The team recently won Hawaii's Regionals, earning themselves an invitation to the prestigious 2022 FIRST World Championship—the oldest and largest student robotics program in the world.

Blue Thunder is one of 400 teams from 34 countries to make it to the championship held in Houston, Texas, where they finished 37 out of 75 teams in their division. The competition allowed students to connect and collaborate with teams worldwide, providing insight into other teams techniques and approaches to the engineering process.

Each team was randomly placed into a division to compete in 10 randomly assigned qualification matches. Each qualification match challenges a team to work with two other FRC teams to strategize and perform together.

The format helps students develop teamwork, strategy, and leadership skills.

Maui Resort Rentals is proud to sponsor the team alongside other donators and supporters like Jeff Bezos, Lauren Sanchez, Maui Economic Development Board, and Mayor Michael Victorino, who made their attendance at the competition possible.
